Dead to Rights 2 takes aim

Namco Bandai is to resurrect the Dead to Rights franchise with a new title for Xbox 360 and PS3 named Dead to Rights: Retribution.

Framed in what is described as an intensely dark, dangerous and tragic narrative”, the game promises an innovative new hybrid combat system” including both melee and armed combat, as well as a cover system and disarming moves.

We’re excited to be working with Volatile Games on Dead to Rights: Retribution,” Namco Bandai’s director of marketing and PR Todd Thorson stated.

As one of our key franchises we’re confident that Volatiles Games’ combination of innovative design and powerful technology will make a great game that fans and newcomers alike will love.”

Volatile Games’ project director Imre Jele added: Dead to Rights: Retribution is a fresh look at the franchise, with a ground-up design for the game mechanics, world, characters and narrative. We’ve re-imagined Dead to Rights for both fans of the franchise and a brand new audience alike.”

The game is due for release this year.
