Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut smashes Rising Star’s pre-order records

Today’s release of Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut brings with it word of a very well deserved accomplishment for publisher Rising Star Games.

The game, a PS3 re-release of Xbox 360’s cult 2010 horror release with additional content, has become Rising Star’s most pre-ordered game ever, MCV can reveal.

In addition, its pre-order numbers have exceeded those won by the Xbox version two years ago by a factor of ten.

The game has easily surpassed our expectations for day one orders,” Rising Star’s product marketing manager Yen Hau told MCV.

It was the first time we have offered such a diverse pre-order scheme of DLC content for each retailer, in all territories, and it has been an unparalleled success for us.

It further demonstrates that the cult status we built up for the game two years ago is still going strong and I’m absolutely overjoyed that PS3 owners can finally experience this gaming gem.”
