Disney UTV Digital MD Samir Bangara resigns

Managing director of Disney’s recently formed Disney UTV Digital division Samir Bangara has resigned from the company.

News of Bangara’s departure was first reported by Medianama and has since been confirmed to MCV by multiple reliable industry sources.

Disney UTV Digital was recently formed following Disney’s acquisition of UTV to encompass the company’s gaming, digital media and interactive entertainment businesses. This included Indiagames, where Bangara worked for seven years.

According to the Medianama report, Bangara has resigned from Disney to form a start-up.

MCV has also learned from sources that Bangara’s resignation is soon to be followed by more departures from Disney UTV Digital’s management. While some of these are said to be voluntary resignations, others will be in the form of lay-offs.
