Duck Hunt aims sights on Wii U Virtual Console

Nintendo has announced that NES light gun classic Duck Hunt is heading to Wii U’s Virtual Console.

The game was originally released in Japan 1984 and featured as a launch title for the machine in both North America and Europe.

Players will need a Wii Remote to use as the gun, although the platform holder hasn’t announced plans to re-release the original NES Zapper – an iconic peripheral that became a staple for many NES owners.

The Duck Hunt Dog also features as a character in Super Smash Bros.

Duck Hunt has not yet got an official release date but will be available to download on the eShop soon”.
