E-xpress presents strong 2013-14 games line-up at Interact 2013

Distributor E-xpress Interactive held its annual trade event in Mumbai, with representatives from various publishers and retailers in attendance.

The main focus of the event was to showcase the company’s line-up of upcoming games for India, which includes Grand Theft Auto V, Batman: Arkham City, Watch Dogs, WWE 2K14, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Representatives from Ubisoft, Take-Two and Warner Bros. were in attendance, as were several major retailers, such as Landmark, Planet M, Flipkart and Reliance Digital.

Speaking at the event, E-xpress founder and director Amit Khemani presented a positive outlook on India’s console and PC games market.

We now have a channel of active retailers and business partners who have invested and can bring more investments in this business as it grows. The media is covering more and more news and articles on gaming. More than 10 million households can afford game consoles and they can be marketed as an integral part of their entertainment needs,” he said.

There are 3,000 retail access points now available with gaming products across India,” said Khemani, adding, We have humongous support of international publishers in terms of supply chain, marketing initiatives and affordable and correct pricing for the market.”

Khemani predicted a growth in the installed base of current-gen consoles to 1 million over the coming years, and subsequent revenue generation of half a billion dollars per annum.

Any correction on current-gen hardware pricing and the launch of next-gen consoles will support and fuel the growth in the market. If the installed base of the current generation can be pushed to one million units, which I believe is very possible, it will lead to half a billion dollars in revenue, with 5 million units of software sales per annum.”

Aside from the aforementioned, E-xpress line-up for the current financial year also includes Spliner Cell: Blacklist, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified,Wolfenstein: The New Order, Rayman: Legends, Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst, add Total War: Rome II.
