E3 2010: Darksiders 2 announced

A follow-up to apocalyptic third person slasher Darksiders is in development, as revealed by THQ at its E3 conference.

Core games VP Danny Bilson was speaking at the publisher’s analyst meeting. He said: Darksiders 2 is coming. We’ve green lit that.

The game is well into production and will be released two years from now."

As reported by CVG Bilson also said that Darksiders was more popular than Red Faction.

It sold about twice as much as Red Faction so it has done pretty well,” he said.

I believe that franchise building isn’t about getting a zillion units out of the gate, it’s about building a fan base, building a community of people that dig it, listening to them and doing what you think is good.”

The original Darksiders went on sale on PS3 and Xbox 360 in January. A PC version has since been confirmed.
