EA donating $1m to five charities, including SpecialEffect

Publishing giant EA is giving away $1m to five different charities, one of which is the UK’s very own SpecialEffect.

This donation comes as part of the firm’s Play to Give programme. HeForShe, Code.org, National Center for Women and Information Technology, Code2040 and SpecialEffect will be sharing the $1m figure.

As a part of this EA is rewarding players who perform certain tasks within a number of different games.

These include Battlefield 4 and Hardline, Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, FIFA 16 and Madden NFL 16.

This comes ahead of EA’s Play event, which is being held on Sunday, June 12th in both Los Angeles and London.
