EA: Football Club announced

EA has announced that FIFA 12 will mark the launch of a brand new social networking-style service: EA Sports Football Club.

The service will be free of charge and launches with the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions of the upcoming sports games.

Accessed through the game or easportsfootball.com, this allows players to connect and socialise with other FIFA and football fans, tracking their in-game progress and comparing them to their friends.

Users will also be able to follow the real-world progress of their favourite teams through Support Your Club, which connects players with their fellow supporters. By competing with fans of other clubs – both through FIFA 12 and Football Club – they can earn club points and improve their team’s position in the virtual league tables.

EA has promised that EA Sports Football Club will be updated to reflect developments in the world of football, allowing gamers to relive real-world football events.

The millions of fans playing FIFA online have shown us there is a constant appetite for a deep connected experience, driven by a love of football,” said Matt Bilbey, VP and GM of Football for the FIFA franchise.

EA Sports Football Club is a new social experience that brings the world’s football fans together, engaging and entertaining them in new ways that have never been done before in a football game.”
