EA’s BioWare and Easy Studios lose key execs

EA has been rocked by two further executive departures.

Firstly, BioWare’s ambitious MMO Star wars: The Knights of the Old Republic, has lost its executive producer Rick Vogel, Gamasutra reports.

Vogel’s departure comes on the back of a recent dip in subscriber numbers for the title and talk of a possible switch to free-to-play.

Vogul is a 20-year industry veteran with previous experience on MMOs such as Ultima Online and Star wars Galaxies.

His departure comes amidst a backdrop of rumoured layoffs at the developer, which has since come out and confirmed that any changes that have happened in recent days are part of the company wide restructuring plans announced in May.

On top of that, EA Easy Studios’ general manager Oskar Burman has resigned from his position.

The move comes a year after his position was vacated by Ben Cousens, who himself went on to work fro iOS gaming specialist Ngmoco.

"It’s been a helluva fun ride,” he wrote on Twitter. Easy and Battlefield Heroes initiated a path that changed EA forever. A path that’s now grown to a highway.
