Edinburgh Interactive registration opens

Registration has now gone live for Edinburgh Interactive 2011.

And the organisers have announced that Tencent – China’s biggest internet service portal – will keynote the event.

Visitors can book tickets to this year’s event by visiting the offical site at www.edinburghinteractive.co.uk.

Early bird deals run until March 31st, 2011, with delegates charged 175 including VAT, and Scottish developers just 125 including VAT.

After the 31st that price rises to 210 and 150 respectively. Student pricing sits at 99.

The event takes place on Thursday, August 11th and Friday, August 12th and runs alongside the Edinburgh Festival – a wider arts and entertainment celebration.

Edinburgh Interactive has been running since 2002, and was originally known as the Edinburgh Interactive Games Festival before expanding its remit in 2006.

It regularly attracts a diverse cross-section of people, from publishers, developers, academics and students through to government representatives, philosophers, futurists, artists and musicians.

MCV and its sister brands Develop, Licensing.biz and Mobile Entertainment are also working closely with the event with a wide-ranging media partnership.

Nintendo UK chief David Yarnton has taken over from former PlayStation boss Chris Deering as chair for the conference.

Partnership and speaker enquiries should go to event director Alexa Turness on 01462 456 780 or at alexa.turness@bhpr.co.uk.
