Sony confirms Frozen-themed PS4 for Japan

Disney’s hit movie Frozen is to be emblazoned onto the side of Sony’s PS4.

Gematsu reports that the Limited Edition Frozon PS4 will boast a special Anna and Elsa laser seal hard-drive bay cover”.

It launches on July 16th and will cost 42,980 (250). What it doesn’t include is a copy of the film, however. That will cost an additional 4,000.

There’s no word yet on a Western release and we wouldn’t bet on one – this has Japanese only release written all over it. Well, it doesn’t. It has Anna and Elsa all over it. But what we’re saying is while it’s the sort of item you’d expect would have large appeal in Asia it’s probably not one for the typical Western gamer.

Sony earlier this week confirmed that the white PS4 that will come as part of the Destiny bundle will be getting a standalone releasein Europe later this year.
