UK CHARTS: FIFA 11 scores

As was always going to happen, EA’s FIFA 11 has stormed straight to the top of the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 on its first week of release.

In the process it records the strongest ever launch in FIFA’s history (despite the torrential rain that swept the UK this weekend). In fact, only two games have enjoyed stronger UK launches – Modern Warfare 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV.

There’s more on that here.

Elsewhere in the listings, last week’s number one, Codemasters’ F1 2010, slips to second while Capcom’s Dead Rising holds firm in third. The arrival of the Ryder Cup sees Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 surge from 12th to sixth.

New entries include Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed II: Complete Edition (15th) and Capcom’s Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (28th). There are also re-entries for Microsoft’s Forza 3 (30th) and Sony’s Move-comaptible EyePet (38th).

Here’s the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top Ten in full (for the week ending October 2nd):

1. FIFA 11 (EA)
2. F1 2010 (Codemasters)
3. Dead Rising 2 (Capcom)
4. Halo Reach (Microsoft)
5. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (Activision)
6. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (EA)
7. Sports Champions (Sony)
8. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (Ubisoft)
