Execs depart EVE Online developer CCP as San Francisco office closes

CCP, the maker of expansive MMO space sim EVE Online, has announced plans to close its San Francisco office, with two executives also set to depart from the firm.

In the company’s latest financial report (via Eurogamer), it was revealed that chief marketing officer David Reid and chief financial officer Joe Gallo will be moving onto pastures new.

The closure of the San Fransisco-based office is part of an effort to combine and simplify” the games firm, said CCP head Hilmar Veigar Ptursson.

Ptursson also took the time to briefly praise Reid and Gallo, saying: "Joe Gallo and David Reid [did] a great job for CCP and I wish them all the best for the future.”

The announcement follows the departure of several other CCP execs working on EVE Online, including executive producer Jon Lander, lead designer Kristoffer Touborg, director of security Sean Conover and lead community manager Pete McKay.
