Final Fantasy VI remake heading to Steam next week

Square Enix is porting yet another Final Fantasy title to PC, with the mobile remake of Final Fantasy VI set to arrive on Steam next week.

Why the company chose that particular version over the SNES or Game Boy Advance editions is a bit befuddling, but it’s what will be available on November 16th via Valve’s digital shop.

Outside of the PC and mobile version, the SNES release of FFVI can be purchased on Wii and Wii U’s Virtual Console.

The Steam release will include updated controls, an active-time battle system optimized for PC, achievements, and trading cards. No word on pricing as of yet, but the mobile version runs $16.
