Free FPS on the way for PlayStation Home

Discussing its upcoming shift of focus for PlayStation Home, the platform holder has demoed a couple of the new titles heading to the service.

And Shack News reports that one of them – Bootleggers – is a free-to-play fist person shooter that lets gamers take direct control of their Home avatar as they attempt to slay the avatars of their rivals.

Shack describes it as a surprisingly violent twist to the PlayStation Home world – seeing Home’s somewhat stiff participants fall under a blaze of gunfire is something I’d never expected to see in Sony’s virtual world”.

The game will take residence in Home’s new ‘Action’ hub which itself takes the form of a run-down city slum.

Note, too, that the game if not ‘freemium’ – it will be 100 per cent free-to-play, which itself makes up for the game’s simplistic nature.
