Free-to-play EA Sports UFC launches worldwide on iOS, Android

A mobile edition of EA Sports UFC is now available as a free-to-play offering on Android and iOS.

EA soft-launched the game earlier this year in Canada, Russia, Singapore, and South Korea – racking up 2m downloads ahead of this week’s worldwide launch.

EA Sports UFC PS4 and Xbox One developer EA Canada handled the development, though the publisher notes the two offer somewhat different experiences. For one, the free-to-play edition offers in-app purchases of in-game gold” currency in amounts ranging from $1.99 to $99.99.

The mobile release provides a roster of more than 70 UFC fighters, which can be leveled up as you play, unlocking special moves and new opponents with the coins you earn. Owners can also play along with real-world fights in live events for exclusive rewards.”
