Freelance journo Irvine launches dlcentral.co.uk

A new consumer website has launched that intends to offer unrivalled coverage of downloadable digital games content.

It’s called dlcentral.co.uk and is run by freelancer Nathan Irvine. Irvine’s a familiar face to many in the industry following his successful eight year stint at Future publishing where he began at PSM2 before working his way up to associate editor of GamesRadar.com.

There’s a ton of DLC coming out for games these days, and while I think that a lot of the more accomplished gaming sites out there do indeed cover it, there isn’t really a one stop shop downloadable content for console games,” Irvine told MCV.

I’m hoping to bridge this gap with DLCentral and eventually provide a comprehensive resource for curious gamers.

DLC is still a mystery to some people. I hope that DLCentral both clues people up on what’s out there and becomes a reliable source for gamers who are unsure if the extra content they’re about to purchase is worth it or not.”

The site features a Groupon-like discount distribution service that can collate customer details and behaviours and feedback to publishers. User content will also be championed while Irvine has put a lot of work into fleshing out content prior to going live.
