GameCircle service confirmed for Kindle Fire

Amazon has announced GameCircle, its own answer to rival services such as Apple’s GameCenter and Microsoft’s Xbox Live.

GameCircle will offer Kindle Fire devs the ability to integrate achievements, trophies and leaderboards.

Where it goes one better than its rivals, however, is its Sync function that stores game saves in the cloud and allows users to pick up where they left off even if playing on another device.

Crucially, it will also offer the chance to resume past games even if aq title is deleted and reinstalled.

"We are thrilled to be part of Amazon’s GameCircle with Temple Run,” Imagi Studios co-founder Keith Shepherd stated.

The new service is a great way to keep our fans engaged by offering them more opportunities to play the game, and an intuitive platform to connect with new players."

The news comes as rumours abound that Amazon will launch its own smartphone either late this year or in early 2013.
