Games Press gets a refresh and mascot

Journalist resource Games Press has received a makeover and mascot to mark its tenth anniversary.

The site – which lists thousands of press releases, images and videos – now boasts a new logo, cleaner front page and a revised colour scheme.

The site is more popular than ever with the games media – we’re now serving around 600,000 pages a week to journalists worldwide,” production director and co-founder Jonathan Davies told MCV.

However, it was starting to show its age so we’ve embarked on a program of generally tarting it up. So far our efforts consist of a new logo, a tidier front page and a slightly different shade of purple. We’ve got far grander plans for 2011, including new features to make the site even more invaluable to the media and games publishers alike, and company announcements.”

Games Press is also asking MCV readers to name its new logo mascot. Champagne is on offer to whoever submits the winning moniker.

Founder Jonathan Davies said: ”So far our best bit is the new logo, which warms our cockles every time we see it.

”But we reckon the ‘G’ guy could do with a name. If someone among MCV’s esteemed readership could help us out, we’d be grateful.”

Entries can be submitted to mail@gamespress.com.
