GameStop reveals European next-gen game upgrade offer

Gamers on the continent intending to upgrade key games from current to next-gen have been given another option by retailer GameStop.

The chain will allow those who buy select titles on Xbox 360 or PS3 the chance to upgrade to the next-gen version for the discounted price of €14.99.

The titles included in the offer are Call of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4 and Need for Speed: Rivals. They will retail individually for €69.99.

This is an amazing opportunity for our European customers to enjoy their favourite PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 games until the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions become available,” GameStop’s executive VP of International Mike Mauler stated.

"This offer gives our customers the chance to upgrade their current PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 games for the new PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions of the same game for a great price. This is a great example of how GameStop is helping gamers around the world make the transition to the next generation of consoles economical and seamless.”

The deal is valid in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
