Gareth Bale remains FIFA 14 cover star

Winger Gareth Bale will remain the cover star of FIFA 14, despite his 85.3m transfer from Tottenham to Real Madrid.

Bale was unveiled as the player to stand alongside Lionel Messi on the front cover of UK version of FIFA 14 last month.

The deal was between EA, Bale’s camp and Tottenham. EA likes to run a Premier League player on the UK box art for FIFA, so it was reasonable to suggest that the publisher might pick an alternate player.

But EA told MCV that they will be sticking with Bale, with more details to follow. So hopefully EA’s photoshopping department can do a decent job of replacing the shirt he’s wearing on the box.

An EA Spokesperson said: "Gareth Bale remains the FIFA 14 UK cover star alongside Lionel Messi. In light of his recent transfer we are working closely with his management and we will have an update soon."
