Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed that a worldwide system update will be released for 3DS in late May.
Discussing the new handheld’s long-tail launch during Nintendo’s keynote at GDC 2011 in San Francisco, Fils- Aime confirmed the update would introduce a number of previoulsy announced features that would not be available out of the box.
These will include the eShop – where users can purchases retro handheld titles and original DSiWare – the internet browser and the ability to transfer previous DSiWare purchases to the 3DS.
He also suggested the 3D camera’s functionality could be updated in the future.
