Gears of War Kinect project canned

Gears of War: Exile, an unannounced Kinect take on the popular shooter franchise, has been cancelled.

Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski confirmed that the previously rumoured project is no longer in development.

"Let’s just bury the hatchet now," Bleszinski told GameSpot. "Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can’t give any details about that has since been cancelled."

Little is known concerning Gears of War: Exile, but it was supposedly to be an on-rails experience using Xbox 360’s motion control device.

Trademarks for the game were discovered back in January 2011, and the title reportedly was to be revealed during E3 2011—which clearly never came to fruition.
