Gfinity launch GTV into open beta

UK based eSports organisation Gfinity has launched GTV into open beta.

GTV is Gfinity’s media player that gives viewers a lot more control over what they see compared to watching on traditional streaming services. Anyone using the beta will be able to select from up to 10 different camera feeds, of which up to five can be displayed on a single screen, along with up to 15 different audio feeds. Of course there is also a chat to keep up to date with fellow viewers and there is even a DVR feature to save the best moments.

This open beta is designed to stress test GTV, with a view to launch the product in a few weeks depending on how this test goes. As it is an open beta some features may not be working as intended if you want to try it out this weekend.

It’s an important step for us to trial GTV in open beta as we continue our investment in next generation eSports,” Sam Van Tilburgh, Head of Marketing at Gfinity, exclusively told MCV. We have brought our streaming expertise to bear on this project and we are confident eSports fans will love the user-controls and the chance to direct their own stream!”

To try out GTV you can head over to the Gfinity website, and play around with the system while watching the CEVO Gfinity Season 9 LAN Finals this weekend. The beta test will end once the tournament ends on Sunday evening.
