Ubisoft has announced that the open beta for its upcoming open world title Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will be available next week between February 23rd and February 27th for all players, with pre-load starting next Monday on the 20th.
The open beta will see players romping around two of the game’s 21 provinces – the mountainous Itacua where the cartel has yet to fully penetrate, and the snowy Montuyoc set in Altiplano. The latter area will pose a much greater challenge to would-be Wildlands players, as this is home to Santa Blanca’s elite training centres. Players will be free to tackle each province in whatever order they choose, but those who suppress the bosses in Itacua will benefit from extra XP and skill boosts when they come to tackle Montuyoc.
Players participating in the open beta will also be able to access the exclusive ‘Unidad Conspiracy’ mission by playing the full game before March 31st, provided they use the same Ubisoft account. In it, players will ignite a way between the Unidad, a local corrupt militia group, and the Santa Blanca cartel.
Just like in the full game, players will also be able to experience the title’s four-player co-op, allowing them to play with three friends on the same platform, as well as its traditional single player mode.
Ubisoft also announced its recommended PC specs for Ghost Recon Wildlands today, and it looks to be quite the demanding title, with recommended video cards including Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 970 and AMD’s R9 290X to play the game on High quality at 1080p. To play the game on Low at 720p, Ubisoft recommends PC owners have at least an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD HD 7870 installed.
