Google Play store celebrates 25bn downloads

Google has announced Android’s Google Play store has surpassed 25bn downloads.

The company announced the news on the official android blog, adding that the store currently offers over 675,000 apps and games.

In comparison, Apple’s iOS app store crossed the 25bn milestone back in March. Given how many recently released devices support Android, Google appears to have a great shot at continuing to narrow the gap over the next year.

In celebration of the milestone, Google is offering select games/apps at $0.25 for the next five days.
