Google’s most searched tech gadget in 2013 is PS4

PlayStation 4 was Google’s most-searched for gadget in the US this year.

The Escapist points to Google’s updated top search charts, which show Sony’s new console on top of the search browser’s Tech Gadgets category.

Microsoft’s Xbox One, conversely, failed to crack the category’s top 10.

Interestingly, the PS4 comes in third in the worldwide Consumer Electronics category, while the Xbox One is right there in fourth.

The apparent indication that Xbox One is not highly sought after by US gamers seems a bit absurd, given Microsoft’s historical solid track record with its home territory.

Escapist goes as far as to suggest that committed Xbox One buyers simply didn’t search for the console, knowing they were already going to purchase one.
