Grab a SNES Mini to celebrate GameSeek’s 15th anniversary

UK retailer GameSeek is celebrating its 15th anniversary next week with a variety of special deals, the retailer has informed MCV, including discounts on Switch and the Classic Mini SNES.

Between October 2nd and October 6th, visitors will be able to purchase the Switch for 258.50 – that’s 20 lower than Amazon’s current price – and the Classic SNES Mini for 78.50, making it one of the few places you’ll be able to pick one up if you didn’t manage to pre-order it earlier in the year.

FIFA 18 will also be on sale for 38.50 across all platforms, with more deals to be announced nearer the time.

As well as a range of deals, GameSeek is also launching its own interactive web game, GameHunter, with the aim of rewarding community engagement with the site. Here, players take the role of a game collector where they’ll be travelling the world collecting rare and interesting games and consoles. The first person to complete the game will win a prize. "It’s something very, very special and we can’t wait to share more with you," reads GameSeek’s wesbite.

GameSeek first started trading on October 7th 2002, and has recently relaunched its website with the aim of creating the "best e-commerce game store on Earth," CEO and managing director Stephen Staley told MCV. It also recently introduced its very own marketplace where users can buy and sell their own products through GameSeek’s website.

The retailer recently made headlines when it discounted several triple-A titles to just 15in order to increase site traffic to help benefit its third-party retailers – a move that cost the company 250,000. However, it seemed stock levels for these deals proved rather low, as there were several complaints, as documented by Eurogamer,about users’ difficulty in obtaining deals, even after trying to add them to their shopping basket as soon as they went live. Let’s hope the availability of GameSeek’s 15th anniversary deals stick around a bit longer this time.
