Grand Theft Auto 5 set for early 2013 release; PC version not announced

Following rumours last week, Rockstar Games today announced that open-world juggernaut Grand Theft Auto 5 will release in spring 2013.

For the benefit of those of us in this part of the world, spring is usually between March and May. Judging by Rockstar’s last three releases – Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3, an April or May release seems most likely.

Internationally, preorders for the game will begin on 5th November, and more information about the game is also expected around the same time.

While it doesn’t come as a surprise, PC gamers will be disappointed to learn that GTA V has only been announced for Xbox 360 and PS3, but like GTA IV, a PC version should follow a few months down the line.

When fans demanded information on the PC version of the game, a Rockstar representative replied, For those asking about the PC platform, we’re currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don’t have any details to share about a PC version at this time.”
