Has Capcom confirmed Lost Planet 2 exclusivity?

Following its

reveal of Lost Planet 2

on Xbox Live earlier this week, Capcom has confirmed that the game is in development for Xbox 360 – and seemingly, exclusively so.

Whilst the game’s 360 arrival is now certain, there has been no mention of other formats – but importantly, the word ‘exclusive’ has not yet been used. The original title debuted on Xbox 360 but subsequently arrived on both PC and PS3.

It would not be a surprise to see Microsoft pursuing more platform exclusives in the year ahead. After the release of Halo Wars this Friday, the publisher has very few notable first party titles due out in the near future.

The likes of Gears of War 3 and Crackdown 2 are surely in the works, and Ninety Nine Nights 2 is nearing, but the platform holder’s 2009 slate looks a little barren at present.

MCV has contacted Capcom for clarification.

In addition, Capcom has confirmed that Lost Planet 2 will support four-player co-op gameplay and what the publisher calls one the most extensive multiplayer campaigns seen in a shooter to date”.
