HMV debuts festival shop

NEW on-site festival shops appeared at Lovebox last weekend courtesy of HMV.

The temporary store sold a range of festival essentials, games, DVDs and CDs. And now the firm is taking the tent-style shop to other festivals, including the High Voltage rock festival and the Global Gathering.

HMV might even take the outlet to even bigger festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds.

James Flett, who is managing the HMV festival shop project, said: The shop fits in perfectly with our ethos of giving people access to music and entertainment however they wish to consume it – whether in their homes, on the move or via the live experience.

Given our recent move into music venues and festivals, the festival shop is a natural extension.

We went out of our way to make sure it fitted into the environment and that we created a fun, versatile area.
We’re looking forward to building our presence so that the shop becomes a regular part of the festival scene.”
