HMV planning midnight openings for Grand Theft Auto V

Entertainment retailer HMV has confirmed that some of its stores will be opening their doors at midnight for Grand Theft Auto V.

With the game arriving worldwide on September 17th, the events will be taking place on the evening of Monday September 16th.

There’s not much information available at the moment. HMV’s website is still pretty threadbare following its recent financial troubles and still doesn’t allow for the purchasing of goods online.

The chain says it will reveal a list of participating stores on its Twitter feed in the coming days.

Expect plenty of other retailers to follow suit, of course. It will be interesting to see what sort of discounting we’ll see on the game – and in particular, how aggressive UK supermarkets will choose to go on the title.
