ID@Xbox devs offered free Unity Xbox One deployment add-on

Xbox One developers registered with Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program are entitled to the Unity Xbox One deployment add-on at no cost, Unity CEO David Helgason has revealed.

In a blog post on the company’s site, Helgason announced a new agreement had been reached to support indie developers who sign up through the new Xbox One self-publishing system – specifically allowing the addition of Xbox One deployment to an existing Unity license for free.

Hegason added that an Xbox One version of the Unity Pro tools will also be made available to ID@Xbox devs at no extra cost. The free tools will release in 2014 alongside the launch of Unity support for Xbox One.

The deal is similar to the one Unity struck with Nintendoin Setember to support Wii U.
