IGN Germany launches today

IGN has announced the creation of IGN Germany.

The site will be published from IGN’s office in Cologne and led by new editor-in-chief Fabian Kaeufer. A team of German writers will produce quality editorial dedicated to the new site’s home market.

We’ve built this site from the ground up for the German gamer,” said publisher Peer Schneider. IGN already has a significant German userbase that currently visits the UK site. With this launch we are looking to expand the audience further through relevant, compelling and engaging content.”

Kaeufer added: I’m excited to be able to lead our new team to build on our existing success. We’ll be launching with our coverage from Gamescom as an official media partner, producing German-language content focused on the games and trends that work especially well in Germany.”

The public beta of IGN DE Edition officially launched today at Gamescom.
