IN PICTURES: Amazon’s Fire TV

Amazon revealed its Fire TV device at a press event in New York earlier today.

The box is being sold for $99 in America. No date or price has been set for the UK yet.

The gadget supports video streaming. So far it is set to have content from Amazon Instant Video, Netflix and YouTube, among other services.

The Fire TV is also a gaming platform. Below is the device’s controller – previously seen inimages leaked earlier this year.

The device’s remote control allows for voice commands to be given.

‘Thousands’ of games are going to be available on Fire TV. These include titles from EA, Ubisoft and Disney – among others – as well as titles being developed by Amazon’s own Game Studio. So far the retailer has shown off first party sci-fi shooter Sev Zero.
