INDIA: God of War III released early

Sony India has put God of War III on sale six days earlier than planned in an attempt to prevent import copies flooding the market.

The game was originally scheduled for a March 19th release, which has now been brought forward to March 13th.

It was reported on indianvideogamer.com that a country in the Middle East released the game early before import copies entered the Indian market at high prices.

Fearing a drop in demand, Sony India released God of War III almost one week earlier than expected to prevent low sales.

The UK release is unaffected, and the game will go on sale as usual on March 19th – this Friday.

Killzone 2 was also reportedly released one week early in India last year.
