InFamous sales revealed

SCEA has revealed that its PS3-only third person sandbox adventure InFamous has sold 1.2m copies worldwide since its release this summer according to the US PlayStation blog.

Whilst selling a million copies is certainly not to be sniffed at, the number is surely below what both Sony and developer Sucker Punch would have hoped – a shame for what is arguably one of the year’s best titles.

In addition, from December 10th players of the game in North America will be able to download the ‘Gigawatt Blade’ add-on, an extra weapon for the game’s lead character Cole. Previously the content had only been made available to those who pre-ordered the game with specific retailers.

The game’s original soundtrack is also set to go on sale on December 8th.

The game has also seen its RRP in North America drop to $39.99. The game is available as a Platinum title in the UK for 20.
