Infinity Ward IS working on new COD

Activision has confirmed that Infinity Ward will definitely be working on a new Call Of Duty title.

During the publisher’s latest financial call to investors, Activision president Bobby Kotick said that despite the recent drama, Infinity Ward remains an important process” to the Call Of Duty brand, according to VG247.

COO Thomas Tippl added: We have not yet confirmed the individual plans for Call of Duty next year. We don’t usually do this at this time. We’re very focused on our communication right now on the release for this year [Black Ops].

What we have said is that Infinitiy Ward is working on a Call of Duty title and you’ll hear more details as we advance through the year.”

The developer is also known to be working on a second map pack for Modern Warfare 2, following the recent release of the Stimulus Pack.

Kotick revealed that over 17 million map packs have been sold across all titles in the Call Of Duty series – although this figure does not take into account sales of the Stimulus Pack on PC or PS3 – and that 1.75 billion hours have been spent playing COD titles on Xbox Live alone.

Expect additional content for Modern Warfare 2 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops that will surprise our millions of players,” he said.
