Inside Xbox canned in US

Microsoft has discontinued production of its Inside Xbox programmes in the United States.

First-party on-console shows such as Major’s Minute, Featured Videos and Insider Moves will no longer be available in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, according to Xbox’s Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb.

"We want to express our sincere appreciation to all of our viewers and fans of Inside Xbox, and remain committed to providing our members with access to high-quality news and information via the console, cosial media channels and Xbox.com," said Hyrb.

"This decision was not made lightly. Our teams working on Inside Xbox have done a great job connecting with our members and delivering high-quality, informative game news and tips. We thank them all for their contributions to the Xbox Live community and wish them all the best in their future endeavours."

Hyrb also reports that Xbox Live in EMEA is "currently looking at its operating model for Inside Xbox". The EMEA offering includes the Games Media Award-winning Sent U A Message.

SUAM host Dan Maher said on Twitter: "Thanks for all the concerned/supportive messages. Nothing to announce yet, but the next episode of What’s In Store is the only update that will hit Inside Xbox over the next week."

Microsoft will continue to host third-party video content on Xbox Live in all regions.
