JAPAN: 360 sales success continues

The unlikely resurgence of Xbox 360 in Japan seems to be continuing with news that Microsoft’s machine

has outsold Sony’s PS3 for the third week in a row

in the territory, though Nintendo’s hardware pairing is still bossing the hardware charts.

Figures from Media Create show that Xbox 360 sold 8,271 units in the week ending October 5th, ahead of PS3’s sales of 7,232 – though both machines saw sales dip.

Xbox 360 recently managed to outsell PS3 in the monthly hardware sales battle, too.

Nintendo is still dominating hardware sales in the region, however, with the DS shifting 42,385 units and the Wii 25,330. Sony’s PSP notched an impressive 26,045 unit sales, whilst PS2 bettered both PS3 and Xbox 360 by shifting 8,618 machines.
