Killzone: Mercenary for PS Vita gets new release date

Killzone: Mercenary, the PS Vita debut for PlayStation’s most popular first-party FPS franchise, will release a couple of weeks earleir than it was originally intended.

Mercenary was initially scheduled for release on 18th September, but will now arrive on 4th September instead. The new date may well have been decided to prevent the game from being completely swept aside by the Grand Theft Auto 5 juggernaut, which arrives on 17th September.

Killzone: Mercenary is being developed by series creator Guerrilla Games’ studio in Cambridge, England. The Dutch headquarters, of course, is currently working on the series’ PS4 debut – Killzone: Shadow Fall.

The developer also has an unannounced new IP in the works, with rumours suggesting that new trademarks registered by Sony for ‘The Order: 1886′ could well be Guerrilla’s next franchise.

Sony has also announced a couple of preorder bonuses, which can be found on the PlayStation Blog, but we’ll have to wait and see if these will also be available for India.
