Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush gets Wii U release date

Nintendo has confirmed the European release date for Wii U exclusive Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush.

It will arrive both physically and digitally on the console on May 8th, which is earlier than the previously expected second half of 2015”. It arrived in Japan and the US earlier this year under the name Kirby: Rainbow Curse.

The game is a sequel to 2005 DS title Kirby: Power Paintbrush and uses the Wii U GamePad’s touchscreen to mirror many of the features found in the similarly designed touchscreen handheld.

The game will be compatible with the Kirby, King Dedede and Meta Knight Amiibos, each of which can be touched in once a day to unlock additional abilities. The title also support up to four local players, who will have to use WiiRemotes.
