Leaked ‘Project Beast’ could be Demon’s Souls II

Dark Souls developer From Software and Sony Computer Entertainment Japan are said to be working on a new title going under the name Project Beast.

The last collaboration between the pair was 2009’s critical hit Demon’s Souls – the title that went on to spawn From’s ‘spiritual successor’ Dark Souls and recent sequel Dark Souls II.

Now a NeoGAF post appears to carry images of the long-rumoured project, which is presumed will be a PS4 exclusive owing to Sony’s ownership of the Demon’s Souls IP. Indeed, don’t rule out the possibility that the game could even be called Demon’s Souls II.

Gematsu reports that the game was rumoured to have been previously lined up for a debut at last year’s Tokyo Game Show – an E3 reveal next month now seems more likely.

Sony was so unconvinced about the international appeal of Demon’s Souls that it didn’t even bother to publish the game outside of Japan. Instead, publishing rights were handed to Atlus in America and Bandai Namco in Europe.
