Left 4 Dead sales jump 3000%

Valve boss Gabe Newell revealed at the DICE Summit earlier this week that following his firm’s 50 per cent price cut to zombie FPS Left 4 Dead last weekend, sales of the game jumped an incredible 3000 per cent.

Sales were so strong that they actually eclipsed those seen in the game’s opening weekend.

Shacknews reports that the Steam-wide price cuts saw its customer base increase by 1600 per cent over the same weekend. Interestingly, bricks and mortar High Street sales remained constant throughout, with some titles, such as Team Fortress 2, actually seeing a boost thanks to the release of a free update.
