LEIPZIG 08: PS3 keyboard confirmed

Sony has announced a new Blackberry-style keyboard for PS3 at Leipzig this afternoon.

SCEE president David Reeves – coming good on his ‘blockbuster’ promises this afternoon with announcements of new PS3 and PSP SKU – showed the crowd how the peripheral can easily slot into Sixaxis and DualShock controllers.

The pad will also have a touch pad mode for mouse input.

Reeves said he expects the device to be used in game development in future.

Eight versions of the keypad will launch in PAL territories later this year.
