Lost Planet 2 announced

Having teased a brand new title reveal last week, Capcom has confirmed that Lost Planet 2 is in the works.

The announcement came via a movie download on Microsoft’s Xbox Live Marketplace service. The video suggests that the game will, unlike its predecessor, not be limited to snowy terrain and will also boast jungle settings.

Co-op gameplay was also confirmed, along with the fact that the game is being worked on by Resident Evil 5’s producer Jun Takeuchi.

The original Lost Planet was released on Xbox 360 in early 2007, with a PC version following in June and a PS3 outing early last year. Warner is also said to be working on a film adaptation of the title.

It is not yet known when the game will be released and whether it will be on other formats aside from Xbox 360.
