Mario Kart 8 racks up 1m sales in US

Mario Kart 8 has surpassed 1m sales in the United States, Nintendo has announced.

The game is the second Wii U title to achieve the milestone in the territory, with New Super Mario Bros. Wii U being the first.

The company added that 3DS exclusives Tomodachi Life, Mario Kart 7 and Pokemon X/Y made up four of the 10 best-selling software SKUs for July.”

Nintendo also pointed out that 3DS software sales have sprinted past 40m units in the United States, including 3.48m Mario Kart 7 copies and 4.1m Pokemon X & Y combined sales.
