THQ SEARCHES FOR SALES BOSS
The WWE publisher’s UK arms is hiring for a new sales director to handles its games in the UK and Ireland. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing major accounts with retailers throughout the region and maintaining strong ties with THQ’s marketing and operations teams.
Applicants must have experience of working in the video games, hi-tech or new media industries and good strong knowledge of both the European and UK retail markets.

JAGEX – RuneScape firm expands exec team
The UK developer and publisher has announced two executive level appointments.
Daniel Clough has been named chief operating officer. He first joined Jagex in 2002 and was the studio’s thirteenth employee. He has worked his way up from customer support to managerial roles, before leaving in 2009. He returned in January as vice president of RuneScape.
Wendy Rosenthal joins as chief marketing officer. She has over fifteen years of experience with entertainment brands, having worked at Sony, Hyper Entertainment, Abbey Road Studios, Microsoft and Ferrari.
Daniel and Wendy bring a huge weight of experience to Jagex’s leadership team,” said CEO Mark Gerhard.
EA – James Robinson promoted
As Rob Davey leaves EA UK for the publisher’s Australian office, James Robinson has been rpmoted to replace him as UK sales director.
Robinson was previously a business unit controller for the UK team. Davey, meanwhile, will take on the role of general manager for the SANZA (South Africa, New Zealand and Australia) territory.

IGN – Goldstein heads up AskMen
The online giant has hired Mike Goldstein as the first UK publisher for IGN sister site AskMen.com.
He joins from Catch 22 Magazine, and has previously held roles at Pretty Green and The Marketing Store. He will report to IGN Entertainment’s UK MD Ian Chambers.
With targets to drive AskMen forward, making it even bigger, better and more relevant for UK males in 2012, Mike was the ideal man to become our first ever publisher in the region,” said Chambers.
