Gameforge acquires majority stake in Frogster, seeks to seal ownership

German publisher makes rival takeover bid

German publisher Gameforge has acquired a 60 per cent stake in MMO publisher Frogster Interactive Pictures, also based in Germany, with an eye towards a takeover bid of the company at a share price of 25 Euros.

Gameforge has stated that it intends to sustain Frogster as an independent company, with its management team intact. Roughly 25 per cent of Frogster remains free float, with 15 per cent in possession of the company management.

Frogster is set to make an appearance at GamesCom, taking place this August in Cologne, where it will show its upcoming MMO titles Mythos and Tera.
