InStock publisher closes

The publishing company behind games retail monthly InStock has today gone into liquidation.

Skep Media told over a dozen staff today that recent economic pressures have taken their toll on the company, which had grown quickly via acquisition over the past two years.

Group publisher David Lilley and events director Anju Chadda have both joined MCV publisher Intent Media to work on new projects. Other former Skep staff are also being offered positions at Intent Media.

"We have huge respect for the Skep team. The company has been unfortunate, dragged down by the recent financial downturn. But there are talented people there who can help drive us into new areas," commented Intent boss Stuart Dinsey.

As well as publishing InStock, Skep’s business included a dominant position in the DVD market.
